Today is the first day of the 2013-2014 school year! Whether
you are a freshman attending your first college class, and upperclassman coming
back to classes after co-op, or a sophomore going on your first co-op, you will
be experiencing something new this term. I am going to keep this short and
simply give some of my advice for the fall term.
Not only
should you set goals for your schoolwork/ co-op work, but in all aspects of
your life. Set daily goals, personal goals, and professional goals. Make sure
to keep track of your progress!
2. Go Out of Your Comfort Zone
Try
something new this term that you have never done before. Whether it ends up
being a good or bad experience, you will be able to take something positive
from it. This will help with confidence.
3. Join an Organization
Whether it
be an intramural sports team, the Triangle, or our very own Sport Management
Student Union (SMTSU), reaching out to and joining an organization will not
only widen your network, but can help develop friendships that you will truly
benefit from.
If anyone has any other suggestions I would love to hear them so I can apply them to myself!
