By: Aaron Coleman

With the NFL’s annual Fall Owners Meeting taking place this week, change may very well be on the horizon for America’s new national pastime.

The London Experiment

By: Aaron Coleman

Let’s face it, it is probably fair to say that most American NFL fans are not huge on NFL games being played in London during the regular season. Fans are probably not too keen to see their squads potentially lose a home game just so our mates across the pond can watch the Steelers and Vikings play live in a “soccer” stadium. Personally, I would honestly not be too excited for Robert Griffin III, Alfred Morris, and the rest of my Washington Redskins squad to have to take a 10+ hour flight to go play in front of an unfamiliar “home” crowd.

In Case You Forgot, The NFL Is Still King

Week one of the NFL is in the books and it is clear that the NFL is still the undisputed king of television.  The NFL dominated television ratings Sunday and Monday as America proved how football crazy they really are as they helped the NFL and its television partners break records like Peyton Manning.

Growing Pains For Fox Sports 1

After an impressive debut two Saturdays ago, FOX Sports 1 is learning quickly that competing with the established juggernaut that is ESPN is not going to be an easy task at all. FOX Sports 1’s debut success stemmed largely from the live UFC Fight Night card that pulled an impressive 1.38 rating, grabbing 1.78 million viewers according to Nielsen. The network’s version of SportsCenter, called FOX Sports Live, also had an impressive debut number with a 0.2 rating.

A Word Of Advice To Robert Griffin III

It’s not a stretch to say the Washington Redskins’ quarterback Robert Griffin III may be the most visible player in the National Football League. Whether it’s commercials, magazine covers, or the lead headline on ESPN, “RGIII” is basically everywhere thanks to his prowess on and off the field.

What Happened to the MLB Trade Deadline?

In years past, nothing got baseball fans more excited during the long summer months than the drama of the trade deadline. Fans would watch ESPN anxiously for hours to see which desperate teams would trade their no longer affordable stars to teams looking for that extra boost come October.

2013 MLB All Star Game: By The Numbers

It’s been two days since the American League’s 3-0 victory over the National League in the 2013 MLB All-Star Game and according to all reports, it was a smashing success for Major League Baseball. Obviously the New York Mets’ Citi Field was sold-out (a record crowd of 45,186 descended upon Queens for the game) for all the events but the real successes came from the millions that tuned in to the game across the country and the millions more that talked about on social media.

Attendance and TV Ratings Bombing for the Bronx Bombers

Lyle Overbay. Vernon Wells. Travis Hafner. Chris Stewart. Jayson Nix. Alberto Gonzalez.

No, those guys are not the 2013 Miami Marlins. They are actually the 2013 New York Yankees.

Yes, the George Steinbrenner, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, multi-billion dollar Yankees.

2013 NBA Draft: The Financial Difference Between #1 and #5

At around 7:30pm Thursday night in Brooklyn, NY, 30 young men will have their lives changed forever when David Stern calls their name to play in the NBA. These 30 young men (some even younger than me, which I find very upsetting) will see the gratifying culmination of years of summer basketball camps, AAU travel teams, and countless hours in the gym in front of the eyes of millions of fans across the world. Also, most will strike it rich in an instant. But how rich you may ask? Well, I’m here to explain the pretty big difference between going first overall (such as Kentucky’s Nerlens Noel, Maryland’s Alex Len, or Georgetown’s Otto Porter) and going fifth or lower.

NBA Sneaker Sales: Who is number one?

As I’ve stated in previous posts, there are not too many more lucrative ventures for NBA players than the world of high-priced sneakers. The sales numbers for 2012 are in from SportsOneSource and the top sellers are not much of a shock to be really honest. Michael Jordan still leads by a wide margin with a $2 BILLION dollar sales figure (read my old post about Air Jordan’s continued dominance if you do not believe me), followed by Mr. Chuck Taylor and his Converse line. But those are givens, how did the current crop of NBA stars stack up? Who was in the top 3 for currently active hoopers? (Hint: Derrick Rose and Kevin Durant missed the cut)

Let’s see:

How To Lose $16 Million With One Racist Phrase: The Sergio Garcia Edition

Athletes and endorsements go hand and hand. I mean, we have: LeBron James and Nike, RGIII and Adidas, and even Jimmy Johnson and Extenze (yes, that was an attempt at humor). These companies want to market their products by using the best of the best in various fields to make average Joes want to go out and buy their ridiculous overpriced products. However, the athletes also have an obligation to represent the company properly at all times by not acting like an uneducated imbecile. This is where PGA golfer Sergio Garcia screwed up…big time Tuesday night.

Will He or Won't He Play?: Adidas’ $250 Million Problem

Back in 2012, Adidas decided to invest a big-time shoe deal in Chicago Bulls star point guard Derrick Rose, which was valued by numerous sources at over $200 million dollars. Adidas has been number two in the athletic wear industry behind Nike (and Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Carmelo Anthony) for decades and they see Rose as the X-Factor that could potentially close the gap on their rivals from Oregon.

It Must Be The Shoes

(Air Jordan 11 Retro Bred)
Michael Jordan retired nine years ago. His last championship with the Bulls came in 1998. He is 50 years old and unfortunately, he owns the Charlotte Bobcats. Yikes.
