State of the (Student) Union - 2012

Mike Millich of Women's Professional Soccer speaking to SMTSU last winter.
In just over a year and a half, the Sport Management Student Union (SMTSU) at Drexel University has made great strides both on-campus and beyond. Most importantly, we've afforded students, like myself, the opportunity to further hone their knowledge of the industry and engage in meaningful development activities.

During our existence, we've held speaking engagements, maintained this very sports industry blog, and educated local Philadelphia high school students about working in sports through our Sports Industry Ambassadors Program (SIAP). Through it all, we've strategically  created relationships with internal and external parties to maximize our reach.

As the organization progresses forward, our commitment is to run more innovative events with outside sports professionals, continue to pump resources into this blog, and expand SIAP to include more local Philadelphia schools. Our overarching goal is to dig deeper into each realm of the organization to establish increased quality in our work.

Our summer planing phase is underway. Expect more information on the upcoming school year at the end of the summer. Until then, stay tuned, the show's only just begun.
