Sixer Fans: Brighter Days Ahead!

Will anyone be surprised if the Sixers actually fail to win 10 games this season? The Sixers are off to a blistering hot start going winless in their first 17 games. Obviously, the organization knows what they are doing by tanking it this badly. However there seems to be a lot of people who actually understand what they are trying to do. Tank this year and get another lottery pick. Then see where next year goes with Michael Carter-Williams, Nerlens Noel, Joel Embiid, hopefully KJ McDaniels, and another lottery pick. I only say hopefully for KJ McDaniels because he gambled on himself and is going to be a restricted free agent after this year instead of signing a multiyear contract. Right now he is playing his way to the top of the Rookie of the Year discussion. Brett Brown comes from a winning organization and has been around the San Antonio Spurs for so long that he is trying to mold these young Sixers like the Spurs. It will take time, but the Sixers are young and talented. It’s time to take a look forward on what Sixers fans should be excited about.

The athleticism of this team. The Sixers are long and for the most part athletic. I’m looking at Nerlens Noel and KJ McDaniels. These two are freak athletes and they are so fun to watch. Yes Michael Carter-Williams won Rookie of the Year last year, but he is not as athletic as other point guards in this league. He needs to take advantage of high height more in order to succeed in this league. On the other hand Nerlens Noel and KJ McDaniels are both high flyers. I’m impressed with McDaniels’ offensive game and very impressed with his defense. It will be fun to see him develop this year. Nerlens Noel is still very limited offensively, but hopefully his work ethic will help him develop a respectable offensive game. Noel is also a good shot blocker so when Embiid and Noel play together next year, hopefully it will be hard to score inside. Tony Wroten is another very athletic player on this team who seems to be able to get to the rim at will. The athleticism of the Sixers is something to watch and hopefully it will turn into some wins sooner rather than later.

Draft picks! Sam Hinkie has been working his magic trying to get draft picks after draft picks. Lets’ not forget what he has done for the Houston Rockets helping make them a very good team. He was the one who drafted Chandler Parsons in the second round for them. Although he is not in Houston anymore, it’s safe to say he knows what to do with the draft picks. The second round steal this year is definitely KJ McDaniels. It’s only a matter of time before they start getting wins. Hinkie knows what he is doing by trading away Andre Iguodala and Jrue Holiday. He doesn’t want the Sixers to be an average team for a few years, he wants them to be great for many years and he will be doing this with his draft picks.

Winning! I guarantee you the Sixers will win at least one game this year! Okay let’s be realistic. The Sixers are going to have the worst record in the NBA but even if they don’t win this year (or next) I assure you, you will be seeing a successful team in a few years. I have hope. I have complete confidence in this organization because they are run by Sam Hinkie who knows what he is doing.

And nope, the Kentucky Wildcats CANNOT beat the Sixers! I don’t care what anyone says.
