NBA Extends Television Deal



On Monday, October 6, the NBA announced they had extended their television deals with Turner and Disney for nine years through the 2024-25 season.  This deal is said to be worth $24 billion and each team will receive $70 million over that time.  It appears to be a win-win-win for the league, teams, and players.

NBCUniversal Unveils Comprehensive "Championship Sunday" Programming


NBCUniversal unveiled its “Championship Sunday” programming for May 11th, the final day of the Barclay’s Premier League. Less than a month away, NBCUniversal will execute its most inclusive broadcast of the Premier League in the United States. What is queuing up to be a day of high-stakes and rollercoasters-of-emotion, all 10 matches will be broadcasted simultaneously across NBC’s family of networks. The race for the title and escape from relegation will begin at 10 am ET. Below are the participating networks

HIO: NBC Ready for English Premier League

On Saturday, the English Premier League kicks off a new season. Aside from the usual managerial changes and player moves in the offseason, soccer fans in the U.S. should be excited for another reason. NBC will be broadcasting every match of the season, either on air or online.

Under Further Review: NHL Playoffs versus NBA Playoffs


Comparing the NBA and the NHL is like comparing apples and oranges.  You can try, but you just cannot do it.  However, when they are both battling for the eyes of sports fans everywhere in primetime, it is difficult to not compare.  The differences in the viewing demographics of the NBA and NHL are wide, but they are competing for the same general sports fans just looking for a good game to watch.
