NBA Preseason: 5 BOLD Predictions

As the NBA season is set to begin in about a month let’s make five bold predictions. It will be fun to come back at the end of the season and see what a genius I am. No, I’m not going to sit here and tell you the Cleveland Cavaliers are going to make the NBA Finals because if they don’t win it all we can just throw all the blame on LeBron like we always do. Well here goes nothing.

1.  Anthony Davis will win Most Valuable Player. Obviously LeBron James and Kevin Durant will be the favorites to win but if you look at the skill set of Anthony Davis, he is not too far behind. He is a force on defense and probably the best shot blocker in the game. It will be fun to see the unibrow take his game to the next level. I’m expecting big things from Anthony Davis as I am expecting him to carry the New Orleans Pelicans into the playoffs.

2. The Philadelphia 76ers will NOT be the worst team in the NBA. Yes let’s face it we all know what the Sixers are doing. They are tanking in order to get the best draft picks possible. I feel like people will look past the Sixers this season and they will surprise some teams. With the likes of Michael Carter-Williams, Tony Wroten and a healthy Nerlens Noel, this team will definitely be fun to watch. I am predicting at least 25 wins and some other team will have less than that!

3. Kobe Bryant finishes top 5 in MVP voting. Kobe will be out there to prove something. Many people are already doubting him just because of his health. Kobe just has the drive and determination to stay an elite player. The roster around him is not spectacular but it isn’t the worst either. Kobe Bryant will pull his team into the playoffs and make some noise. Then all the critics will be gone.

4. Nerlens Noel will lead the NBA in shot blocking. Teams will be afraid to come into the paint to face Nerlens so they will start launching threes. Noel was a defensive force at the University of Kentucky before he went down due to a freak accident.  With that being said, the Sixers will probably still be one of the worst team in the NBA. Nerlens Noel will be a key piece to keep your eye on as he is my favorite to win the NBA Rookie of the Year.

5. Russell Westbrook is the best player on the Oklahoma City Thunder. Westbrook just seems to have that mentality that Durant doesn’t. The killer instinct will make Westbrook the leader of the team. Westbrook is more aggressive than Durant and this year we will see how Westbrook is more valuable than Durant.
