State of the Student Union: Another Year in the Books

Well, we made it. Hopefully we got a little smarter, saw a little more of the world and pushed ourselves a little bit further in the past year. If not, well then that's OK too. There's always next year.

In the fast pace of Drexel University, there isn't always time to look back. Let's take a second to look back at the 2013-14 year, and maybe another second to look ahead to -- gulp -- 2014-15. Yea, so basically just give me two quick seconds.

State of the Student Union: Spring 2014

The weather is finally warming up for good -- I think -- and so is the Sport Management Student Union's schedule of events. Winter may have stolen a major event from us last term, but we are back and better than ever with the turning of the season. The SMTSU and I are proud to present to you the SMTSU Spring Series.

State of the Student Union: SMTSU Adds Three Officers

As 2013 turns to 2014 and we put our New Year's resolutions into action, the Sport Management Student Union is also striving to get better. To begin 2014, the SMTSU has added three new officers to join Kevin Rossi (President), Kevin Murray (Vice President), Lindrit Shkodra (Treasurer), Mike Proska (Secretary), and Greg Monforte (Director of Marketing and Outreach).

The SMTSU would like to welcome Matt Puzio, Alexa Fontanella, and Bennett Schiff to their new positions as officers.

State of the Student Union: December 2013

It's that holiday time of the year, but more importantly, it's the end of  the fall term. For some, that means their first term at Drexel is now under the belt. For others, it means their time at Drexel is ending. It's a time of excitement and a time of change. To me, it's a time to look back at how far we have all come and look ahead to where we are all going.

State of the Student Union: October 2013

Wow, what a day it was for the Drexel Sport Management Student Union last Friday at the first annual Sport For Social Change Conference. Five different presentations and five different new ways to look at the sports that we already know and love. With these new viewpoints on sports from the professional levels to the youth levels, everybody’s horizons were certainly broadened and futures brightened. We all have the power to change the world in we live in through sports.

It's hard to believe that the 2013-14 school year is already here, but the Drexel Sport Management Student Union would like to give you a warm welcome back!

The Drexel SMTSU has been hard at work all summer long with some exciting events and opportunities coming up right away. We hope that you are as excited as we are to jump right into things and continue on our journey through the sports industry. Throughout this year, we hope to make that journey as enjoyable as possible and help all of you out along the way. After all, it's sports and, at the end of the day, sports are fun!

As mentioned, we have some exciting things on-tap from the onset of the year that I would like to bring to your attention.

State of the Student Union: August 2013

The last three years have seen the Drexel Sport Management Student Union grow from merely an idea in the imagination of one ambitious sport management student to a burgeoning student organization on the ever-improving Drexel University campus.  As it goes, the SMTSU grows as the Drexel sport management program grows as the University as a whole grows.  With growth comes change, and as you read last week, there are changes coming to the SMTSU.
